College of Anaesthesiologists
The College of Anaesthesiologists, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, was originally inaugurated as the Chapter of Anaesthesiologists on 16 December 1995. The College is the "academic arm" of anaesthesiologists in the country, and has as its primary objective the advancement of the art and science of anaesthesia and related disciplines.
The Council of the College handles the day-to-day management while academic activities are usually delegated to the Special Interest Groups (SIGs). Each SIG has a Convenor assisted by an expert panel.
The activities of the College include:
Credentialing and Accreditation
Development of Consensus Statements, Clinical Practice Guidelines and Standards of Care
Quality Assurance and Clinical Audit
Organisation of Sub-specialty Scientific meetings
Liaison with sister organisations overseas
Assisting in the facilitation of postgraduate training
The College works closely with the Malaysian Society of Anaesthesiologists, organising events for the benefit of the profession as a whole.

Applications Open for 2018 WFSA New Delhi Thoracic Anaesthesia Fellowship
Applications are invited for two thoracic anaesthesia fellowship positions at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi, India.
The anticipated start dates of the fellowship are July 2018 and January 2019 and the duration of training will be six months.
The closing date for applications is 4th December 2017. Successful applicants will be notified before the end of January 2019.

WFSA Fresenius Kabi Anaesthesia Innovation Awards 2017 Announced
The WFSA and Fresenius Kabi are delighted to launch a unique innovation development awards programme which identifies and supports the development of innovations that have the potential to transform the field of anaesthesia and improve patient safety worldwide. The project is a three year project, with one award given per year until 2020.
Encouraging applications from around the world, the WFSA Fresenius Kabi Anaesthesia Innovation Awards will identify innovations in the field of anaesthesia which have the potential to benefit patients worldwide. Innovations can relate to anaesthesia, critical care or pain and be:
• A new product/ device
• An IT innovation
• A new techniques or solution of a problem
• An innovation in education or training in anaesthesiology

- Hospital in need to contact the Head of Department or Anaesthetist on call for permission to loan the stock.
- Hospital to then send officer to collect the dantrolene from pharmacist or doctor on call.
- Hospital to later issue a memo to acknowledge that the dantrolene will be replaced on a later date.
